Yasmeen Lari, Pakistan's first female architect, has been awarded the Jane Drew Prize 2020 for raising the profile of women in architecture.
Aged 79, Lari has continued to dedicate her life to architecture since closing her practice in 2000, advising UNESCO and building homes for tens of thousands of people affected by floods and earthquakes in her home country.
"I am touched and humbled to be included among the galaxy of architects who have received this prize," Lari said.

Prince Claus Fund (PCF) held its annual award ceremony on 3rd and 4th December 2019 at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Most partners of the PCF were invited to attend the lavish festivities which were held to honour 7 exceptional women from the Global South.
CEO, Heritage Foundation attended the ceremonies along with taking part in a special meeting organized on 2nd December 2019 by Heritage Foundation’s long-term partners “Cultural Emergency Response” of Prince Claus Fund, headed by Deborah Stolk.
