The best football video games available for Android.

Why are we revisiting these genre stalwarts now? EA and FIFA have officially severed ties after nearly 30 years. Will an EA Sports FC appear on this list in a few years? Will Xbox One X and PS5 owners have to re-create their team rosters like it's PES on the PS2? And, of course, there's the World Cup to consider.
Dream League Soccer 2023 is the most recent installment in the Dream League Soccer series. It is currently the only option from this developer, as the other Dream League Soccer games have been removed from Google Play. Fortunately, the game is quite good. The game, like many others on this list, is a simulator. You create a roster, compete against other players, and even construct your own stadium. It has over 4,000 licensed players, so the sky is the limit. You can play soccer with this one, and the 2023 version has better AI and smoother gameplay than previous years.
eFootball PES 2023 is FIFA's main mobile competitor. Many people believe it is a better game as well. It's a simulation game, like most, in which you build a team, develop talent, and try to run a successful organization. It also allows you to play soccer with high-quality graphics, superior controls, and a large roster of licensed players. Over the years, the game has received numerous updates. Some of them are excellent, while others are not. For example, the pace of play is slower than it used to be, and the quality of the controls has dipped from its once high peaks. We're not sure if it's better than FIFA, but it's a worthy rival.

Soccer's Head La Liga is the official soccer game of, well, penalty kick online. It's an entertaining little arcade game. In a one-on-one match, two players (or one player versus AI) face off. It's similar to pong in some ways, but in a good way, and you'll see what we mean when you try it. You can train and improve your players, perform a variety of specialty shots, and even edit characters if desired. The gameplay is extremely simple, and it should only take a few play sessions to master it well enough to enjoy the game. Every year, it is updated with new rosters and improvements to previous mechanics.
