The are above .500 for the first time this season after a dominating win over the on Sunday, giving the club its third-consecutive victory. Even as the team committed two early turnovers and gave the Panthers strong field position, the defense held them to field goals and the offense would respond with immediate touchdowns on the other side, displaying strong complementary football, which helped them to move to 5-4 on the year.Next up for the Patriots is a critical home matchup with the in Bryan Trottier Women Jersey Week 10 that will almost certainly have an impact on the current playoff picture in the AFC. Before we fully turn our attention to that game, however, let's take a look at this latest win over Carolina and take the temperature on where various players are coming out of that convincing win. When you force two interceptions, it's safe to a sume your stock will be rising. J.C. Jackson was a black hole for on Sunday as he recorded two interceptions, including a pick-6 in the third quarter. That pick-6 was really the dagger that solidified the victory for New England. After both offenses recorded three-and-outs to begin the second half, Carolina drove 64 yards down the field and had just crept into the red zone, trailing 14-6. It was at that point when Jackson was able to pick off Darnold and return it 88 yards for a touchdown, stretching New England's lead to Noah Dobson Men Jersey 15. J.C. While Jones has been the rookie that's captured most of the attention in New England, there's another first-year player out of Alabama on the Patriots that's really starting to blo som. Christian Barmore has been a force in the interior of New England's defensive line and arguably had his best game of the season on Sunday. He finished with three total pre sures while charging up the middle of the Carolina O-line and was able to get his hand on two throws by Darnold and bat them down to the ground. While it's still early in his career, Barmore is showing flashes of being a foundational piece along the defensive line. The running back trio of , , and turned in an impre sive showing in Week 9. That group accounted for 220 of the offense's 273 yards on the day. Cole Bardreau Kids Jersey Stevenson has started to come into his own during his rookie season and led the team in rushing (62 yards) and receiving (44 yards). What a run after the catch by Rhamondre Stevenson Pats Buzz (@PatsBuzz) Unfortunately, both Stevenson and Harris left this game due to injury, but when they were on the field, they were key contributors to the win. Collins was able to time his jump perfectly to snatch the ball just as it was sailing over the line of scrimmage. This was truly an unbelievable interception by Jamie Collins. Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) , Collins intercepted that pa s 0.17 seconds after the ball was released, which is the lowest amount of air time on an interception in the site's history (since 2016). The will be without the most e sential part of their offense for several weeks, and it's the biggest hit this snakebitten team has faced this season yet.Prescott's thumb injury occurred toward the end of a game where the Cowboys' offensive woes had been exposed by Todd Bowles' defense. A dearth of talent at receiver, a not-yet-ready offensive line and an overall unit that continues to shoot itself in the foot all were overshadowed by Prescott's injury. The Cowboys are now without Prescott's physical talents but also his leadership just as the season begins. The Cowboys were already without offensive line leader , who may not return until the winter, if at all. There's an aura about Prescott that's difficult to describe to those who haven't been around him. I could sense it instantly on the field in Oxnard, Calif., early in Cowboys' camp this summer. As camp turned to preseason and preseason turned to a number of significant worries about this team before Week 1, Prescott's presence created a sense of calm. Now you have a Cowboys offense that has no reliable wide receiver outside of , who hauled in just two of his 11 targets Sunday night. continues to recover from an ACL injury suffered late last year, and third-round rookie was beaten out for a game-day jersey by undrafted free agent pickup . may very well be the left tackle of the future for Dallas, but it's the present today and can't get ramped up quickly enough. The eight offensive penalties are the most so far.The saving grace so far is the defense and perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate . The lost another close game in the Dan Campbell era. But was it actually close? The Lions have become kings of the faux-close, backdoor cover games, and that happened again Sunday in the 38-35 lo s to Philadelphia. Even though the Lions made it a three-point finish, they trailed by 17 points at one point in the fourth and never had a po se sion in the final quarter where they could have tied or taken the lead.Detroit is now 3-14-1 under Campbell and with quarterback taking the majority of those snaps. Last season they went 2-6-1 in games decided by eight or fewer points, and those nine games represented one more than the league average. But actually, the 2021-present Lions have never won when trailing by more than one score in the second half. These Lions are 0-12 in games where they trail by at least nine points in the second half. The Lions were one of the league's worst teams in the second quarter in 2021. But Arizona defensive coordinator Vance Joseph didn't have much of an option. On Sunday against the Chiefs, they played with five DBs on nine out of 66 snaps, or le s than 14 percent of all snaps. The pec injury is obviously concerning for the . The fear is that it's torn, as the reigning Defensive Player of the Year appeared to say shortly after it occurred, according to every amateur lipreader watching the game. He joins a WR corps loaded with talent at spots one through four, contingent upon what happens with Cedrick Wilson in free agency.2021 opponents and previous-season recordNeedle s to say, the Cowboys better reboot as nothing short of contenders in 2021, because their schedule is a series of haymakers with little relief from what's coming. Rex Ryan I knew Mark Sanchez wasnt ever

Typically, when a team trades its first- and second-round draft picks, along with three players to move up and take a quarterback with the No. 5 overall selection, it's because they consider him a franchise-type talent. In 2009, that's exactly what the and coach Rex Ryan, then in his first year on the Mamadi Diakite Jersey job, did to get USC quarterback . Ryan and Sanchez are distant memories in New York -- Ryan was fired after the 2014 season; Sanchez was released the offseason before -- and Ryan recently told ESPN.com's Rich Cimini . "With Sanchez, I knew he wasn't going to be a franchise quarterback, but I thought he'd be good enough to win with," Ryan said. "The guys coming out in this year's cla s have a much higher rating than Mark had -- and Mark was OK." Ryan, who is prone to hyperbole, especially when talking about his players, wasn't Martez Ivey Jersey particularly effusive about Sanchez after he was drafted. "We wouldn't have traded up for Mark if we didn't think he had the ability to compete for the starting position," Ryan told reporters in April 2009. Even though Sanchez helped the Jets to back-to-back AFC title games in his first two seasons, by 2013 Ryan was trying to replace him. "With Sanchez, we just couldn't have it anymore," Ryan said. "The boneheaded interceptions, especially in the red zone, it was mind boggling. Unfortunately, Mark never really got Cordarrian Richardson Jersey better. I think that was the disappointing thing to me." The Jets tried and failed to trade for , who was then backup in Baltimore. Instead, the team drafted in the second round. After Sanchez suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason, Smith was forced into the starting job as a rookie. The team won two more games than they had the year before and finished 8-8, but Smith was one of the league's worst quarterbacks. He completed just 55.9 percent of his throws and had 12 touchdowns, 21 interceptions and four lost fumbles. According to , Smith ranked 45th in total value among all eligible quarterbacks, ahead of only and . Ryan believes that then-general manager John Idzik did not do enough to surround Smith with Josh Green Jersey talented players. "I don't think we helped Geno by any stretch of the imagination," Ryan said. "We never added anything that could help him. And he didn't help himself, either. It was that combination." Smith, like Sanchez and Ryan, is no longer with the Jets, though he's still in New York as backup. And while Ryan thinks quarterback "is good" for the Jets, he also concedes that the 38-year-old is "a placeholder." "He knows he's not the long-range answer," Ryan said, adding: "None of those guys are, certainly not Christian Hackenberg." Which means that the Jets, once again, will be targeting a quarterback high in the draft. "My understanding is there will be five quarterbacks out Tony Ellison Jersey there," Ryan said of the 2018 draft cla s. "And the Jets will get one of them." Turns out, that vaunted 2018 quarterback cla s may not be as good as originally thought. on a group that has been underwhelming for much of the college season.
